36 hours in Hanoi

Was man in 36 Stunden alles machen kann?

Mache einen Spaziergang zum Hoan Kiem-See...

[Go for a walk to the Hoan Kiem Lake...]

über die The Huc - Sonnenstrahl-Brücke zum

[pass the The Huc - sunray bridge to the small island, where you'll find the Jade Mountain Temple]

[pass by at the waterpuppet theater (and get the tickets for the night show!), stroll through the old center of Hanoi...]

[Don't miss to eat "Pho" or one of the other various delicacies in one of the local cantines!]

Very local Tip: DAC KIM, 1 Hang Manh Street; "Bun Cha Nem Cua Be" (= grilled Pork with Rice Noodles and Crab Rolls)

[Take a little rest in a sidewalk café and try the Weasel or Kopi coffee.]

Wunderschöne handgemachte Stempel kaufen!

[Get some handcarved stamps!]

Grandiose vintage Typographie überall!

[Beautiful vintage typography everywhere!]

Beliebte Transportmittel:

[Popular means of transport:]

Moped, Kopf oder Tragestange

[moped, head or sticks]

[From time to time I had to stop to take a closer look at those fascinating house fronts and balconies!]

Nicht zu vergessen die kunstvoll verlegten Stromkabel!

[Impressive: the artsy layed electricity cables]

[Chill out in the sunset in one of the street beer bars and watch the crazy traffic around you!]

[Find decent vietnamese bars just around that corner. Don't forget to tremble with your naked flip flop feet to the music beat on the floor for chasing off the cocroaches, while sipping your delicious cocktail ;-]

Don't: let a thief snitch your brandnew iPhone and don't spend the whole evening at the police, instead of enjoying the waterpuppet theater. Please don't!

BTW: Thanks to the amazing helpful staff from the Hanoi Elite Hotel, who helped us to communicate with the police and to have the incident recorded.

Do: take care of your belongings. Vietnam is not China. Anyway - Hanoi is a great city! Take enough time for visiting, enjoy and shop as much as you can carry!
